Over the course of the season we are only outscored by 6
goals in the 1st while going plus 26 over the final 2 periods.
When the Hounds score the first goal their
record is 21-4. Alternatively we are 13-27 when being scored on first.
On the defensive side, we are much more balanced on goals allowed. I
also looked at the number of goals allowed by both Bryce and Robin by
period to see how balanced their play is.

If you remove the games where either goalie was pulled....

...and he misses on penalty shot - any slower and the puck may have froze to the ice!

More analysis shows that when we score first:

Lehner is 15-2
O'Hagan is 6-3

When the other team scores first:

Lehner is 11-16
O'Hagan is 2-10

How about this.
When we hold our opponent scoreless in the 1st we are 18-6
When we hold them scoreless in the 2nd we are 21-8
When we hold them scoreless in the 3rd we are 12-8

It seems the trick is to either score first, or at least hold them scoreless for 1 period!

Love the stats Alex.  Thanks for putting the time to post.  Much appreciated.
