Nice article in the Star today about Andrew.  He just signed a 2 way contract with San Jose.  $535,000 if playing for the big club and $65,000 when playing in Worster in the AHL.  It just shows what determination and hard work can do for someone.

Can't help but like Andrew Desjardins...He always worked his butt off. One of my favorite Hounds in last several years along with his one time linemate Brandon MacClean! Hope he gets the Steaks, Shrimp and Lobster treatment in the NHL.

Andrew was one of my favourites as well as my fellow posters. I have been trying to surf the various sites for former Hounds in other leagues. Sure nice for the Star to bring it to everybody's attention and show what perserverence can get for you. Well done Andrew! Yes

Was a real fan of Andrew when he played for the Hounds -- this news just makes me feel so good for him. It is a true testament to hard work and dedication!

Reading a story like that makes me get even more ticked with uber-talented players who get everything handed to them on a silver platter, have a sense of entitlement and believe in the divine right of "kings" to play however they want without repercussions. I'll take an Andrew Desjardins over one of those any day!!

...and he misses on penalty shot - any slower and the puck may have froze to the ice!

Actually there have a number over the years!!! Each season has at least one or two of 'em.
