Crosby lost to Ballard, he lost to Ferrence, then McLean and Zidlicky he just pulled their jerseys over their head to end the fight, he even hit Zildicky while he was down during the one fight. Real brave Sid, real brave...

That puts his fighting records at 2 losses and 2 disgraces to the game of hockey, there are other players on your team paid to fight, Sid is paid to sell coffee Tongue Leave the fighting to the men, not "the kid"

BigK182 your last post provided some reasonably good "trash talk". I laughed a bit! Keep up the good work.
I applaud you!!!!! and that was a nice goal by Ovie......However....he's the equivalent of a "dumpster diver" when it comes to producing Championships. He's got nothing but rubbish to show for his efforts.

Just saw on TSN a recent poll of 50 randomly selected NHL players. 64% of them voted Ovechkin as the best player in the world. The Greyhounds season is over, but its not too late for anyone to start supporting Ovie and the Presidents trophy winning Washington Capitals as they win the Stanley cup this year, and Ovie wins yet another league scoring title.

GO HOUNDS!

I'd love to be able to unreservedly cheer for Ovie....it's fun to watch him make those incredible plays and score those impossible goals. But I also believe he is one of the most reckless players in hockey today and one of these days his actions are going to cost a player his career or, God forbid, his life. There's a line between playing enthusiastically and playing dangerously and too many times he crosses it.

I agree that there has been a few times, most recently against Brian Campbell, where Ovechkin has been over agressive. I honestly dont believe that he meant to hurt him, he gave him a little shove a fair distance away from the boards and Campbell fell and slide into the boards. Ovie is by no means (to quote Windsor fans) a "goon" who goes around trying to injure people. He plays physical and doesnt mind when people play physical against him. For years, Scott Stevens was adored by hockey fans around the world because he was so dangerous, now in the NHL being strong and playing hard is looked at in a more negative way. Ovie plays harder, more physical, and more enthusiastically than any other player in the world. That, combined with his amazing skill and his consistantly great statistics is why I believe he is the best player in the world, and will do down in NHL history as one of the greatest ever. Ovechkin and Crosby both already have a spot reserved in the hockey hall of fame.

Hey Hey Hey, Ovies not doing bad lately....he's in runnerup position behind Sid in the goal scoring department and second to Henrik in the points department.  Somehow I see him self destructing in the playoffs....like Johnny Ringo in "Tombstone" Ovie's strung a little to tight...

Tongue All year Ovie has had better numbers, so its no big deal Crosby has one more goal, and Henrik has one more point. Ovie is the most explosive player in the league and there are lots of games left. Ovie is still the captain of the best team in the league and has the best +/- at 43, while Crosby is 87th in the league at +9. Crosby is finally scoring goals, now he just needs to play a little defence. Keep in mind, Ovie's point total was accumulated in fewer games than both Crosby and Henrik, which simply means Ovie gets more points per game than any player in the league. Henrik and Crosby have both played 10 more games than Ovie, and are only leading him by 1 goal for Crosby and one point for Henrik. Also, 338 shots on goal this season, 5.2 per game average, is the best in the league.

Sids smarter than Ovie....he'd have bigger and gaudier stats but he saves energy for the playoffs as he seems to always find himself in the Finals the last few years. Ovie spends it all early cause he usually exits the playoffs early and golf doesn't require near the energy!!! Thus more regular season points....

Won't be long and Ovie will be out polishing up his golf stroke!!!!

The only way Crosby is getting near the finals this year is if Matt Cooke hospitalizes the opposing teams best players

Seems I remember some wise old saying about Dooooo not count your chickens until they are hatched or something like that....but in any event Ovies got very little to show for his playoff efforts to date.....in fact he and his fans were recently spotted buying chickens so they could count them this playoff season.....

Not to mention 2 Rocket Richard trophies, Crosby will never even win one of them.
Always a pleasure to re-quote this!  Isn't Crosby leading the league in goals now...

Tongue Yes he is. By a massive one goal margin, he also has played 10 more games than Ovie. The season is far from over. One thing that is for sure, the Caps are the best team in the league, I wonder why?.......

Ovie chokes on the goal scoring title...and tuning up for the same in the playoffs. Ouch!... so far it's been a bad year for titles and trophies for the Ovester..... won't have to buy any new trophy cases this year....think of the cash he'll save.....Hope Sids back can hold up all the hardware...
