No kidding! What a complete domination by the Spits.Interesting to note, however, how many people remember that it wasn't that long ago the Spits were the door mats in the conference. A couple of back-to-back drafts with 1st overall picks like Greg Niemiez, then Taylor Hall got them on their way.(London did the same thing) Good supporting components in those drafts as. Trades filled the voids and deficiencies well and now history is made. I believe they even had playoff adversity 2 seasons ago where some important lessons were learned paving the way to where they are now. This scenario is not unlike the one we did here in the early 90's, so yes history can and does repeat itself. Bottom line you have to hit rock bottom, draft well because you were so bad, take your lumps along the way and presto; Champions. Hey it works in the NHL as well, Pittsburg now Chicago. If only my Leafs would get a copy and read How To Build A Championship Hockey Club, I would be all set.(trading away first round picks to fill stop gap leaks is not the way to do it). I believe the Greyhounds have subscribed to this How To Manual and are on the right track to build a championship team as well. The other big key is.....patience!Let the kids develop, learn (first how to lose-which teaches you what it takes to win) and stick with them. This has been proven time and time again.Last season was just one of the building blocks to our ascension up the standings in the coming seasons. I for one am excited how this team is taking shape.
